When Pigs Fly

The craft that I could only dream of doing is stained glass. I think that stained glass is one of the most elegant and expressive forms of artwork. It is amazing how it combines the personal touch of the handcraft, with the natural touch of the sun. One can truly express themselves in many ways through stained glass and can do everything from just recreating a picture, to telling a story. The different colors and shapes that go into stained glass truly amaze me.

The above picture is the largest stained glass structure in the world, and uses over 22,000 square feet of stained glass.

The picture above is a stained glass structure in St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica in Cincinnati.

The reason I have so much respect for this art, is because of the time and detail that has to go into every pane of glass, and then the assembly of the structure. The artists know where to place the artwork so that it captures the correct amount of sunlight for the appropriate structure. Stained Glass is just truly amazing!!
